What are human resource objectives?
targets that the function of a business are responsible for.
Give the 6 human resource objectives?
-talent development
-training
-diversity
-alignment of values
-employee engagement and involvement
-number, skills and location of employees
What is employee engagement?
is the degree of commitments shown by employees to their individual work as well to the business objective as a whole
What is employee involvement?
the amount of contributions an employee can make to their working practices and decision making
What does engaged and involved workers look like?
-be positive about the workplace
-be active rather than passive
-want involvement in decision-making
-seek opportunities to influence the workplace
What is talent development?
-identifies those employees who have potential then nurturing this to help them progress.
- they have the potential to help business achieve future goals.
-important to retain these employees and help them progress
What is training?
-the process of equipping employees with skills and knowledge necessary to carry out their job effectively
-can take time and money but the outcome is greater (productive and motivated workforce)
What is diversity?
-recognising and respecting that all employees are different- different priorities, beliefs and backgrounds
-main objective of diversity is to ensure that personal differences do not hinder progress in the workplace
-no discrimination on age, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion
What is alignment of values?
-is bringing the core values or beliefs of all employees together to focus on achieving a common aim- can lead to a strong corporate culture
Why is number, skills and location of employees important?
Can match them to business needs
-allows business to run smoothly and be able to match supply to demand
