How do you name ionic compounds?

A
  1. Use the full name of the metal on first.
  2. Put the name of the non-metal last and change ending to -ide.
  3. If anion a polyatomic ion the name is not changed.
  4. If the cation has more than 1 positive charge, specify which ion is being used with roman numerals.
