Phases of reality shock

A
  1. Honeymoon phase - no one watching over your shoulder (exciting phase); everything is quite rosy and thrilling; usually short-lived.
  2. Shock and rejection phase - when the bad days outnumber the good ones; fatigue, mistrust, hypercritical attitude, moral outrage.
  3. Recovery phase - humor, decreased tension; increased ability to be objective.
