Q

Explain how a response is carried out?

A
  • receptor cells produce impulse
  • travels to the brain
  • brain processes the information and send impulses to other parts of the body producing a response

Q

How does a receptor cell pass an impulse?

A
  • passes into a dendrite
  • then transmitted along the dendron and then the axon
  • a series of axon terminals allows impulse to be transmitted into other neurones

Q

What does a myelin sheath do?

A
  • electrically insulates a neurone from neighbouring neurones stopping the signal losing energy
  • makes an impulse jump along the cell between the gaps in the myelin so it speeds up neurotransmission
