What age can you leave school by choice?
17 years or once completed year 10
Under what circumstances can you leave school under the legal age?
If you have finished year 10 and spend at least 25 hours per week in a combination of education, training and employment
Advantages of leaving school
- people know what they want to so and can do it earlier
- already have a significant amount of education
- creates better financial security
- 17-year-olds are able to rent houses
Disadvantages of leaving school
- missing out on valuable education
Under what circumstances can you be expelled or suspended?
- Creating danger for other’s health (mental, physical…)
- damaging property

What age can you drink, buy or possess alcohol?
If you’re under 18, you can’t drink, buy or possess alcohol unless you’re in a private home and your parent or guardian lets you.
When is it legal to consume alcohol under the age of 18?
- With parental consent
- Responsible supervision from whichever adult is in charge
of the minor - As soon as you go out in public it becomes illegal
