Q

Whenever an accident or injury occurs, this must be recorded. Why?

A
  • This is a legal requirement (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995)
  • Recording accidents gives the opportunity to see the bigger picture of how and where injuries are occurring
  • Assessment of acidents can form the basis of preventative action, an essential part of the risk assessment process

Q

Why is ventilation an important environmental factor for dancers?

A

Dancers need a source of fresh, non-contaminated air whilst dancing. The ventilation of a studio shouls allow the removal of stale and humid air and ensure air movement that provides a sense of freshness without a draught. Windows usually provide sufficient ventilation

Risk of accidents is increased if adequate ventilation is not achieved.
