Q

What do we seem when we react an alkene with bromine rather than an alkane with bromine?

A

The alkene made the bromine colourless when mixed, however the alkene didn’t change colour (didn’t react).

Q

When alkenes burn, do they burn with a smokier flame, or less smokier flame than alkanes?

A

Smokier flame than alkane, since they have a higher ratio of carbon to hydrogen
