Proximal and Distal
Proximal- Closer to the limbs point of attachment to the body
Distal- Further away from the limbs point of attachment to the body
Superficial and Deep
Superficial- Towards or at the bodies surface
Deep- Away from the bodies surface, more internal

Frontal- Facing frontwards and down the middle of the torso (sideways)
Transverse- Through the torso (Inferior view)
Sagittal- through the direct centre of the body, halving face etc.

Flat- sternum
Irregular- vertebra
Short- talus (ankle)
4 tissue groups
- Nervous tissue- brain, spinal cord, nerves
- Muscle tissue- muscles attached to bones, muscles of heart, muscles of organs
- Epithelial tissue: forms boundaries between the environment… Skin, lining of organs
- Connective tissue: Bones, tendons, fats
Achondroplastic and pituitary dwarfism
Achondroplastic dwarfism: the cartilage and bone are destined during development
Pituitary dwarfism: is a growth hormone deficiency that disables full growth in all parts of the body. Where the pituitary gland doesn’t make enough of the hormone. Results in proportional people however with small stature.
