what are the processes of development?

A

economic growth- higher economic growth leads to higher taxes which will enable the government to spend more on public services. this enables higher living standards
social changes- taking care of every individual in society, once every body’s needs are met, society will expand as every body will afford to have bigger families. this wil lead to more technological advancement to accomodate every one which will lead to even more social change
political freedom- for people to choose their own way of life there has to be just laws for every one to get a fair chance at developing and improving themselves.
environmental conservation- preserving and improving the natural environment and the resources that depend on it for future generations

explain the usefulness and limitations of gnp as and indicator of development

A

limitations
- doesn’t show how income is shared
- doesn’t include all production
- there is always innaccurate data from developing counrties
- it is just and avrage and not exactly what everyone recieves from the country’s welth
usefulness
- standrdised measure which allows easy comparison between counrties and years
- the data is available at the world bank
- it hiighlights internatonal wealth differences
