What does the Workplace Safety and Health Act cover and define
- Building operation
- Work of engineering construction
Describe building operation
- Construction, structural alteration, repair or maintenance of a building
- Demolition of a building
- Preparation of a site for an intended building
Describe work of engineering construction
- Construction, structural alteration, repair or demolition of infrastructure

People that developed formulas used in CE
- Harry Laurence Gantt
- Leonhard Euler
- Daniel Bernoulli
- Karl von Terzaghi
- Thomas Simpson
Explain what those people did for CE
Harry Laurence Gantt - Created Gantt chart in 1910s, showed importance in project management
Leonhard Euler - Showed that there was a critical load for buckling of a slender column
Daniel Bernoulli - Bernoulli principle (principle for describing fluid flow, pressure, density and velocity)
Karl von Terzaghi - Developed a theory for the evaluation of the ultimate bearing capacity of shallow foundations
Thomas Simpson - Derived a formula for working out the area under a curve (Simpson’s Rule)
Building design process
- Site planning design stage
- Space planning stage
- Building elements stage
