Movement
An action by an organism/part of an organism causing a change of position/place.
Respiration
The chemical reactions in cells that break down nutrient molecules and releases energy for metabolism.
Sensitivity
The ability to detect/sense stimuli in the internal/external environment and to make an appropriate response.
Growth
A permanent increase in size and by dry mass by and increase in cell number/cell size/both.
Reproduction
The process that makes more of the same kind of organism.
Exertion
Removal from organisms of the waste product of metabolism, toxic materials & substances in excess requirements.
Nutrition
Taking in of materials for energy, growth & development.
Species
A group of organisms that can reproduce to produce fertile offspring.
Binomial system
Naming of species as an international agreed system in which scientific name of an organism is made up of two parts showing the genus and species.
Morphology
The overall shape and form of organism’s body.
Anatomy
The detailed body structure of an organism.
