Temper tantrums are very normal, they’re commonly negative and complain a lot.
How do we handle them?
Ignore their attention seeking behavior? Can be an issue if occurring more than 4 years old.

What is physiologic anorexia?
Children are programmed to eat as much as they need to, so we always think theyre not eating enough.
Growth milestones for toddlers? Weight and height etc?
Weight gain a year?

How many inches a year?
4/6 lbs a year

Height inc. by 3 in a year
Language Development in toddlers?
Increased comprehension, 1 one year child says one word sentences, at 2 years sentences are multiword
Sexual development in toddlers
Toddlers begin to explore genitals, gender identity is formed by 3 years of age
Potty training readiness
They develop voluntary sphincter control, should be able to be dry >2 hours.
Fine motor skill have developed to remove clothing, willingness to please parents
Curiosity about adult toilet habits.
Health promotion for toddlers?
Dental care, regular checkups, remove plaque use fluoride. Do not put bottle in bed with them.
Use car seats
Prevent accidental poisonings, w/ proper storage of risk items, screen for lead poisoning.
Toddler morbidity and mortality causes.
Motor vehicles crashes, drowning, burns, poisoning, falls, aspiration, bodily injury
