A land race is a strain that has been native to a particular area for long enough to have adapted to a specific micro climate so that individualistic traits are present. These are usually very old “pure” strains. This particular Iranian Land race, is quite potent with a very quick onset. Fairly heavy and relaxing with an earthy, floral aroma. It is a classic example of an “ Indica”

This strain originated in Colorado and its lineage includes Aspen Kush as well as Original Sour Diesel. It’s the Diesel part of its heritage that earned it the nickname „ Jet Fuel“. The pungent aroma is characteristic of the best Diesel strains and this is a great example. It is noted for its energetic nature and heady experience. One of the finest examples of flower in IL or anywhere in the country.

Not much is known about this strain though it is thought to be a back cross of Chemdawg crossed with Mexican Haze, though some believe it is Chemdawg crossed with Amnesia. In either case, this variation is marked by a black pepper like spice and a deeper pine aroma. While the effects are primarily cerebral with a focusing aspect, this batch presents a more sedating experience than is typical for this strain.

An in-house cross developed by Brandon Miller for BG, this strain is a cross between Girl Scout Cookie and “Big Hurt”. Gorgeous buds w/ hues of purple provide an immediate aesthetic appeal while the complex aroma of earth, lavender and lemon-y brightness provide a unique flavor. The effects are cerebral and “ston-y” w/ significant physical effects. Can become almost races at high doses.
ALIEN BUBBA

A cross between Alien Kush and Pre ‘98 Bubba Kush, this strain was bred to be loud. Marked by a very high potency, this version is still remarkably heady and cerebral for a strain whose effects are known to be heavy and sedative. The aroma is a bit herbaceous with a slight grassy component.

Named after the infamous reality star, this strain is part of DNA Genetics‘ Limited Edition series and is a cross between Bubba Kush and Capt. Krypt OG. The effects lean towards the physical and heavy. That being said, at low dosages the psycho-activity seems to have an initial focusing quality. The aroma is more strongly pine than expected with a baked cookie quality in the finish.

Bred by the legendary Capulator, the strain’s lineage is Alien Cookies x (Columbian Gold x Starfighter) and is much lauded in grower circles. Well known for its heavy trichomes coverage and incredibly dense buds, this example holds true to its name. A heady and cerebral euphoria with a slightly relaxing quality. Complex aromas of vanilla and candied orange notes, with a floral backdrop.

Lineage stories in the cannabis world can often times be muddles and lost to lore, but this particular story is pretty darn opaque. Supposedly this strain originated in FL and is an undocumented descendant of OG Kush. Others say that it began as a random cutting from FL. Ultimately, the end product is quite physical in effect with a heavy, “ston-y” feel and OG-like aromas of pine and earth with a slight floral quality.

Mob Boss is a cross between the legendary Chem D and Tang Tang. While the effects are primarily cerebral there is a physical “stony-ness” that is heavy while not being sedative. The aroma is reminiscent of baking spices, with a light floral and musky backdrop and a subtle sweetness. Deep purple hues and good trichomes coverage add to the overall aesthetic.

Another excellent strain from John Dieser’s breeding program, this is actually a Gorilla Glue BX1. Different from the #4 strain that many in IL are used to, this version is not the cerebral energizing Pheno, but rather heavier and more physical. This particular batch is moderately physical w/ incredible potency and a “ston-y” feel. The aroma is spicy w/ a black pepper-like quality.

Originally bred by Symbiotic genetics and pheno-hunted by the Jungle Boys, Mimosa is a cross between Clementine and the fan favorite Purple Punch. The effects are energetic with an intensely cerebral euphoria that almost boarders on psychedelic. Bright notes of lemon zest, with a slight funk that favors the more appealing aspects of durian. A true JB Cut and part of “The Exotik” line.

Most likely a cross between Trainwreck and Hawaiian (which is the land race or Original Maui Wowie) this strain is known for its energizing qualities, as well as its mood uplifting euphoria. Jason Nelson has excelled with the batch consistency and has once again delivered an excellent cure. Notes of pine upfront with a prickly tropical fruit character and incredible dried mango undertones. Just under 3% THCv.

Formerly known as Joliet Jake, this cultivar is an F1 cross of Katsu Bubba Kush and Pre 98 Bubba Kush developed as part of Cresco’s Reserve line of top shelf products is a true stand out. Moderate physical euphoria is combined with a potent cerebral feel that is “ston-y” and quite relaxing. The incredible aroma is marked by notes of ripe berry and subtle floral notes reminiscent of orchid with a lush and robust flavor and smoke quality.
