- increased regulation of tabaco -> Aust 2011, Norway 2018, Uruguay 2019 w PMI’s attempts to challenge regulations failing
- Togo threatened with legal action if the went ahead w plain packaging regulations - success of PMI
- regulation of heated tabaco products -> 10 states banned the sale (inc Aust), 22 states regulate the sale, no international testing 4 content of heated tabaco products
- PMI unable to inf WHO = Bureau of Investigative Journalism - IQOS contains more than 4mg of nicotine = 8x the amount claimed by PMI

- 2017 launched the Foundation for a Smoke Free World - invested $4.5bn = 20 mill adult smokers switched to IQOS (e-cig) +online videos for ‘Un-smoke your mind’
