Sandwich

Open-Faced Sandwiches
A traditional type of sandwich where the filling is placed between two slices of bread or inside a bun, roll, or baguette. The bread fully encloses the ingredients, making it easy to hold and eat by hand. It can be served hot or cold.
Closed Sandwiches
These types of sandwiches are either grilled or toasted.
Hot Sandwiches
A type of sandwich that is prepared and served without being heated or cooked. It typically consists of two slices of bread or a roll, with a variety of fillings such as meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments. The ingredients are usually chilled or at room temperature.
Cold Sandwiches
It is the part upon which the ingredients are placed. It consists of some form of bread or dough produced that is whole or sliced.
Base (Bread)
It is meant to bind the sandwich providing an improvement of both flavor and texture. It acts as the protective layer between the filling and the structure, preventing the filling from softening or wetting the bread.
Moistening Agent (Spread)
This consists of one or more ingredients that are stacked, layered or folded within or on the structure to form the sandwich.
