Tools/Implements

it is made of sand paper that is used to shape the free edge of the nail.
Emery board
It is a metal device used to cutt or shorten the fingernails/toenails.
Nail cutter
It is a small plastic brush used to clean dirt and cosmetic residue from the nail surface and skin
Nail brush
It is a file made of metal and used to shape the free edge of the nail.
Nail file
These are used for smoothening and polishing the nails.
Nail buffer
It is used to cut stubborn cuticles
Cuticle scissors
It is a metal device used to trim hangnails and dead cuticles
Cuticle nipper
Used to rest the patrons arms on and feel relaxed during manicuring process.
Manicure pillow
It is a flat container where all the necessary tools/impements, materials and cosmetics are placed use by the manicurist.
Manicure tray
Wheeled cart that is pushed by hand and used for transporting manicuring tools and materials.

Used to soften the hand. for dry hands.
Hand lotion
applied over the base coat to give strength and color to the nail plate
Colored nail polish
is directly applied to the nails to protect them from stain colored polished
base coat
is applied over the colored enamel that prevents peeling and chipping.
top coat
used to brush over the top coat to quicken the drying process
quick dry
used to thin out liquid and polish
nail polish solvent
moisturizes cuticles but doesnt remove them
cuticle oil
items which are more or less durable and permanent needed for a particular activity or purpose

An electrical mini tub where the feet are submerged
Foot spa machine
a simple seat designed to provide comfort during foot spa

A furniture especially designed for giving manicure. it usually has a laminated plastic surface and a drawer for storing materials.
Manicure table
Electronic gadget used to soothe pain from arthritis, muscle spasms, and dry cracked skin of the HANDS.
Hand spa machine
It may be styled slightly rounded at the base and slightly pointed at the finger tips.
Oval nail
filled away at the sides to a point at the tip; this shape is very weak as the sides of the nail (which provides the strength) are totally lost.
Stiletto/ pointed nail
This is a strong shape which is great for those who keep their nails short
Round nail
As above but followed by squaring off the tip, this gives nail til strength over the oval shape
Squoval
are the most famous among the nail shapes
square nail
created by allowing the nail to grow out straight and then filling the tip straight across at right angles with the rest of the nail plate
square nail
The application of nail polish to the entire nail plate.
Plain manicure
Involves applying of nail polish over the whole nail plate except the lunula.
Half-moon
Involves the application of colored polish over the whole part of the nail except the area of the free-edge.
French manicure or tip design.
It invovles the application of colored polish over the whole nail plate except the area of lunula and tip of the nail.
Half-moon with Tip
Is a style that invovles the application of the nail polish to create S curve, leaving a slightly larger gap along the nail walls.
