Notching has been shown to weaken femur but not translated into higher incidence of fracture.

Su I (fx proximal to prosthesis) and Su II (fx originates at flange and extends proximally); Su I and Su II can be nailed Su III (any portion of fx distal to flange); orif with plate or fixed angle device

A
Long stemmed revision arthroplasty, bypassing fx by two cortical diameters.
