titrations Flashcards

1
Q

errors in titrations

A

leaving in filter funnel - liquid can drip into filter funnel - lowers final volume
bubble under tap - liquid must fill space before being added to a conical flask - increases final volume
ensure a conical flask is used - to ensure no loss of liquid when swirling
not swirling constantly - chemicals not fully mixed
not washing sides of conical flask just before end point - reagents may be on side of flask not in mixture. washing with distilled water does not affect the moles in the reactant - increases titre volume

Q

solution to improving titration

A
