Titrations Flashcards
Why do we do titration?
a technique to find out the concentration of an unknown solution when you know the concentration of another solution
What is a indicator?
it is used to signal the end of a reaction
What do we use a pipette for in titrations??
used to accurately measure a certain volume of the unknown solution into the flask
What is the burette used for in titrations?
the burette is used to accurately measure the known reactant until the reaction is complete.
What is the accuracy of a burette?
RESULUTION=0.05cmcubed
why do we swirl the flask in titrations?
to make sure the reaction is happing throughout the solution not one place
How can you tell the titration is complete?
there will be a appropriate colour change in the conical flask
Why do we repeat the titrations?
to get concordant results so higher level of accuracy
is the acid or the alkali the known solution?
sometimes its acid sometimes its alkali
