He was the managing director of the White star line the White star wanted to show they could make the six day crossing to meet this mark they couldn’t afford to slow down he put pressure on captain smith to maintain the speed
Why was it Thomas Andrews fault
It had 16 watertight compartments but didn’t reach as high as they should have the White star line didn’t want them to go all the way up because this would have reduced living space in first class if they had the right height it could have survived
