tissus, organes et systemes Flashcards
name the 4 types of tissues (FRENCH)
- tissu épithélial
- tissu conjonctif
- tissu musculaire
- tissu nerveux
what is the first stage of the hierarchy of life?
atoms and molecules (atoms are made into molecules which construct the parts of a cell)
what is the second stage of the hierarchy of life?
a cell (base unit of life)
what is the third stage of the hierarchy of life?
a tissue (group of specialised cells, all with ONE function. all similar)
what is the fourth stage of the hierarchy of life
an organ (2 or more tissues witch together, have a specific function and form)
what is the fifth stage of the hierarchy of life
a system (multiple tissues/organs which complete one or multiple functions)
what is the final stage of the hierarchy of life?
an organism (something that can live or die, composed of multiple systems)
what system is the “os” part of? FRENCH
musculosquelettique
what system is the “uterus” part of? FRENCH
reproducteur
what system is the “vessie” part of? ALSO what is ‘vessie’ in english. FRENCH
a bladder, system=excreteur
what system is the “moelle epiniere” part of? also, what is it in english. FRENCH
a spinal cord, nerveux
what system is the “coeur” part of? FRENCH
circulatoire
what system is the “poumon” part of. also what is that in english? FRENCH
a lung, system=respiratoire
what system is the “muscle” part of? FRENCH
musculosquelettique
what system is the “intestin grele” part of? FRENCH
digestif
what system is the “artère” part of? FRENCH
circulatoire
what system is the “noeud lymphatique” part of? FRENCH
lymphatique
what system is the “rein” part of? also, what is that in english? FRENCH
kidney, system=excreteur
what system is the “foie” part of? also, what is that in english? FRENCH
liver, system=digestif
what is the function of epithelial tissue (in general) GIVE EXAMPLES
to absorb and secret substances (absorbing=oxygen, nutrients. secreting= digestive juices, hormones, cell waste)
explain the appearance of a SIMPLE epithelial tissu?
a single layer of thin, rectangular cells that are stuck together
what is the function of a SIMPLE epithelial tissu? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
secreting and absorbing substances (exp: aveoles du poumons)
what is the appearance of a COMPOSED epithelial tissu?
multiple layers or thick, rectangular cells that are stuck together.
what is the function of a COMPOSED epithelial tissu? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
helps with protecting the body (exp: peau)
what are the 3 types of muscle tissu? FRENCH
- squelettique
- cardiaque
- lisse
what is the appearance of skeletal muscle tissu?
long and striped layers of cells with dark nuclei (dark red)
what is the function of skeletal muscle tissu? GIVE AND EXAMPLE
to move the muscles of the skeleton (exp: biceps)
what is the appearance of cardiaque muscle tissu?
branched and striped muscle tissu with dark lines that are disque intercalaires
what are “disque intercalaires”?
makes muscles stronger, which lets heart beat as long as possible.
what is the function of the cardiaque muscle tissu? GIVE EXAMPLE
to make the heart beat (exp: heart)
what is the appearance of lisse muscle tissu?
little to no stripes, waved lines and dark nuclei
what is the function of lisse muscle? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
makes internal organs move (exp: stomach)
what is ‘myoglobine’?
reserves of oxygen for muscles. makes tissus more/less red depending on the quantity of oxygen.
what are voluntary/involuntarily muscles
voluntary muscles are muscles that you can move consciously and on purpose, involuntary muscles move naturally and subconsciously.
what is the appearance of nervous tissu?
irregular neuron with long strings that attach to other cells
what is the function of nervous tissu? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
the perception and transmission of information, controls cellular activity. (exp: brain)
what is a ‘cellule gliales’
cells that make up 90% of nervous tissu with the sole purpose to hold neurons in place.
what are the 5 types of connective tissu? FRENCH
- cartilagineux
- osseux
- adipeux
- sanguins
- non-spécialises
what is the appearance of tissu cartilagineux
rectangular groups with dark and curved nuclei
what is the intersteril substance of tissu cartilagineux? FRENCH
gelee
what is the function of tissu cartilagineux? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
covers and connects organs, as well as giving rigidity to structures. (exp: nose)
what is the appearance of tissu osseux
striped circles with dark middle and dark nuclei
what is the intersteril substance of tissu osseux? FRENCH
solide
what is the function of tissu osseux?
rigidifies structures and stores substances (minerals) (exp: bones)
what is the appearance of adipose tissu? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
circular/irregular shape separated by nuclei
what is the intersteril substance in adipose tissu?
none
what is the function of adipose tissu? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
covers organs and stores substances (lipids) (bone marrow)
what is the appearance of tissu sanguins?
numerous circles with varying functions
what is the intersteril substance of tissu sanguins? FRENCH
liquide
what is the function of tissu sanguins? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
transport substances (blood) (exp: blood)
what is the appearance of non-specialised tissu?
lines of varying colours, going in every direction with circular nuclei
what is the intersteril substance of non-specialised tissu? FRENCH
gelee
what is the function of non-specialised tissu?
covers and connects organs
what is the function of a ‘glande EXocrine’ GIVE AN EXAMPLE
to secrete EXTERNAL substances (out of the body or in the cavities of the body) (exp: sebum on skin)
what is the appearance of a ‘gland exocrine’
rectangular cells that surround an EMPTY middle and contain canals.
what is the function of a ‘glande ENDocrine’? GIVE AN EXAMPLE
to secret INTERNAL substances (hormones) transported by blood to organs (ex: hormones like hypophyse)
what is the appearance of a ‘glande endocrine’?
skinny and long cells that surround a FILLED middle and contains no canals.
