Tissues and Organs Flashcards
Tissues
similar specialised cells working together to complete a task
4 types of tissue
Epithelial Tissues, Connective tissues, Muscle tissue and nerve tissue
What is Epithelial Tissues?
Cells that form from the surfaces over other organs. e.g. skin.
What is Connective tissues
supports and holds together other tissues. e.g. fat, bone.
What are tendons
connects the muscles and bones
what are the ligaments

What are organs
Tissues that are organised into organs.
What are organ systems?
Organs that are arranged into organ systems.
What is the respiratory systm?
Allows oxygen to enter and carbon dioxide to exit the body
skeletal systems
your skeleton and muscles
nervous systems
sends messages from your brain to organs
excretory system
gets rid of waste in your body
