Q

What is Epithelial Tissue? What are it’s functions?

A

Two functions: 1.) provides covering such as skin tissue.

  1. ) produce secretion such as glandular tissue
    - commonly exists in sheets
    - no own blood supply
    - dependent on nearby capillaries for food and oxygen
    - these tissues can regenerate if well nourished

Q

What is the difference between simple and stratified epithelial tissues?

A

-vary by # of cell layers
Simple = 1 layer
Stratified = more than 1 later

Q

What is the nervous tissue?

A

Provides structure for the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. Nervous tissue is protected by support cells such as myelin.

16
Q

What are nerves made up of?

A

Nerves made up of cells called neurons that send electric impulses thru body.
