What are the main medications that cause tinnitus?
A
- Aspirin/ NSAIDs
- Aminoglyclosides
- Loop diuretics
- Quinine

When is imaging required for tinnnitus?
A
Usually for pulsatile tinnitus - MRA is used to identify ?vascular cause

What is the management of tinnitus?
A
- Treat underlying cause
- Amplification devices - if associated hearing loss
- Psychological therapy - CBT

What are the main causes of tinnitus?
A
-Idiopathic
- Meniere’s disease (associated heairng loss, vertigo, feeling of fullness)
- Otosclerosis (seen in people aged 20-40, positive family hx)
- Acoustic neuroma (other neuro signs e.g. absent corneal reflex)
