Describe the principles of TIG welding
A
Arc is formed between a non-consumable tungsten electrode and the metal being welded
fluxing of joint is achieved by the use of an inert gas shielded arc
Argon is used and flows over electrode- preventing oxygen in the air contacting weld joint
high frequency generator provides a path for the welding current through the shielding gas
filler metal is added manually to the front end of the weld pool as its required
