What is circumstantiality?
Inability to answer a question without giving excessive unnecessary detail. Person does eventually return to origional point
What is tangentiality?
Wandering from topic without returning to it?
What is clang associations?
Ideas related to each other only by the fact they sound similar/rhyme
Word salad?
Completely incoherent speech where real words are strung together into nonsence sentences.
What is Knight move thinking?
Severe type of loosening of associations where there are unexpected and illogical leaps from one idea to another. This is a feature of schizophrenia.
What is flight of idea?
Feature of mania where there are leaps from one topic to another but with discernible links between them.
What is perservation?
Repition of ideas or words despite attempt to change the topic
What is Echolalia?
Repetition of someone else’s speech including the question that was just asked.
What is alogia?
Poverty of speech
What is avolition?
Poor motivation
