Cervical/Upper Thoracic Seated MET

A
  • Dr uses thumb and index finger to monitor TP of dysfunctional segment, uses middle finger to monitor one segment below
  • Place hand on pt’s head, induce F/E by bending the head, then induce R, SB

A
  • T1-T12 (seated position, load and spring)
  • T1 is just past the bony prominence of C7
  • T3 at spine of scapula
  • T7 at inferior angle of scapula

MET Lower Thoracic, Type 1 (Neutral), Seated

A
  • Pt puts hand on head same side as dysfunction, grabs elbow with the other arm
  • Dr stands on side opposite of PTP, pass Dr arm on top of ONE of the pt’s arm
  • Put pt in R and SB barriers

A
  • Pt puts hand on head same side as dysfunction, grabs elbow with the other arm
  • Dr stands on side opposite of PTP, pass Dr’s arm over TWO of pt’s arms
  • Induce Flexion/Extension, R, and SB.
