Q

Marbury vs Madison

What did it establish?

A

John Marshall said the court didn’t have power to force Madison to give Marbury his commission

Outcome: it set up the idea of judicial review. This strengthened the power of the Supreme Court by giving them the authority to over-rule decisions and declare acts of Congress
unconstitutional.
