what is the concept of organic society?
society is not a collection of unrelated individuals, but a single entity- collective consciousness
what did his views on freedom form the basis for?
‘new liberalism’
what were his two definitions of freedom?
-one was external constraint
-the other was a positive sense + an ability to realise ones own aspirations (self realisation)
what would be possible in a free society?
-self realisation would not be possible
-state intervention was required to promote positive liberty
