Q

First fact

A

I learned from Side Effects: How Our Healthcare Lost Its Way And How We Fix It (David Haslam) and an article published to The New York Times that American healthcare is incredibly expensive and not many people can afford it. The book references a woman, Carrie Cota who was 56 when she was told that she has lupus erythematosus. The amount of money it cost to help her disorder was so vast that Cota ended up not only losing her job but also her house. American healthcare is expensive but if an individual has health insurance, some of the cost is covered. However, Cota had health insurance which highlights how costly the American healthcare is.
