Eosinophillic granuloma of the lung. Pulmonary histocytosis.

A

May present with pneumothorax. Disease can be identified by chest X-ray. Progressive fever, weight loss, rhinitis are also common.
Often associated with bone cysts that can cause pathological fractures. Diabetes insipidus is strongly involved.

Respiratory bronchiolitis associated ILD

A

Fine reticular opacities. Interstitial thickening. Ground glass opacity however no pleural plaques. This makes asbestosis unlikely.
In scenario patient is likely to present with working in a ship yard etc.

Pathology of the disease- macrophages form clumps in the lungs.
Symptoms- dyspneoa, mild restriction in lung function tests. CAUSED BY SMOKING. ON CESSATION, SYMPTOMS WILL STOP.
