What is the mechanism of action of these thiazide diuretics?
A
Inhibits Na/Cl co transporter by binding and thus increases excretion of Na, Cl and therefore water.

What is the clinical use of these thiazide diuretics?
A
Hypertension, kidney stones, diabetes insipidus, oedema in CHF.

What are the side effects of using these?
A
Hyponatraemia, hypokalaemia, metabolic alkalosis, hyperglycaemia, gout, erectile dysfunction.
