What is a thermal process?
A
The interaction between a system and its surroundings which involves work being done and/or the transfer of heat

What is a quasi-static process?
A
A thermal process that occurs slowly enough that the pressure and temperature can be considered uniform throughout the system

What are the four common thermal processes (they are all quasi-static)?
A
1 - isobaric: pressure is constant
2 - isochoric: volume is constant
3 - isothermal: temperature is constant
4 - adiabatic: no transfer of heat
