Therapeutic alliance in CBT Flashcards
WhAt is meAnt by collAbortive empiricism?
Empiricism is the second part of the collaborative empiricism construct. Empiricism reflects the process by which the client and therapist work together to identify the ideas to be formulated as hypotheses and tested out within the client’s personal experiences, such as through change in emotions, strength of belief, and weighing up the intrapsychic and interpersonal sequalae of behaviors (seeCognitive and Behavioral Practice, 20(4)). The measurement of outcomes is another important aspect of empiricism with the CBT approach and, in principle the solicitation of feedback and the measurement of outcomes is the primary means of tailoring CBT to the individual client’s needs
