Satisfaction
Based on CL, profitable in terms of cost and rewards based on social norms.

Investment (intrinsic)
CL and CLalt aren’t enough, Rusbult brought in investment. Intrinsic is resources poured directly into relationship e.g. Time.

Investment (extrinsic)
Things which previously didn’t feature but are now closely associated with the relationship e.g. Shared memories.

Satisfaction vs commitment
Commitment is the main psychological reason to stay in a relationship because the investment would go to waste.

Accommodation, willingness to sacrifice, forgiveness, positive illusion, ridiculing alternatives.
