What are psychological and physical needs?
Physiological needs:
-Includes needs like oxygen and food
psychological needs:
- these we don’t necessarily need to survive we learn them.
How do habits occur? And how do they affect us?
habits occur by channeling drives and our interest in certain directions they affect us by how we keep doing certain things.
What are incentives?
Insensitives is the results we are trying to receive through motivational behaviour
How do incentives work?
Incentives work by drive reduction theory of motivation. incentives pull us to obtain reinforces goals and rewards.
What is the cognitive theory?
seeks to explain motivation by looking at inside and outside forces that make us move
intrinsic vs extrinsic:
Intrinsic - only engaging in activities because they are personally rewarding.
Extrinsic- only engaging in activities to reduce biological needs or external rewards.
What is the over justification effect?
I’ve justification is when people are given more extrinsic motivation than necessary to perform a task.
ex: you only enjoy reading books because your getting paid not because you actually like reading books but because there is a reward involved.

how are emotions different from feelings?
Emotions are different from feelings because emotions are
•more momentary and prolonged.
• more intense
• reflect survival strategies and how we react to situations.
How can you manage and control your anger?
the first step to managing anger is to use the “ flight or fight” response. Anger is caused by stress.
Explain the Fallacy of “approval”
• the belief that it is not just desirable but extremely important to get approval from every person
The Fallacy of “perfection”
• asserts that people should be able to handle every situation with complete confidence and skill
The Fallacy of “shoulds”
• is the inability to distinguish between what should and what should be.
The Fallacy of “causation”
• causation is based on the irrational belief that emotions are one self talk.
The fallacy of “Helplessness”
• satisfaction in life is determined by forces beyond our control
