Q

What is open loop control (Keele, 1968)?

A
  • once the brain sends a command to the muscle, there is no further interaction between the two.
  • Entire movement organised by the brain and no other info (feedback) is needed to control movement.

Q

What is Closed loop control (Adams 1971)?

A
  • Memory trace interprets sensory info and plan the motor program.
  • motor program (Effector or perceptual trace) carries carries out action.
  • possible to adapt movement if needed due to temporary feedback which is compared to the memory trace.
