What is the Cognitive stage of Fits and Posner’s (1967) model?
- Performance is slow, erratic and error ridden
- movement knowledge is explicit and verbally - meditated therefore requiring conscious effort (concentration)

- Performance consistency increases leading to fewer errors.
- Learners are able to detect and correct their own errors.
What is the Autonomous stage of Fits and Posner’s (1967) model?
- Performance is smooth, effortless and accurate
