Feminism:
Takes a conflict approach, looking at power inequalities in society. Structural and Macro approach but with a focus on gender.
- Women get paid 10% less than men (2021).
Marxism:
Take a conflict approach to society, which means that they see society based on disagreement and inequality, with certain groups having more power than others in society.
Structural and Macro approach, but with a focus on how social class impacts others.
What the family does to benefit capitalism.
Functionalism:
Take a consensus approach to society, based on agreement and harmony. Also structural, believing that the structure of society control people. Macro approach, society shapes us because the institutions control people.
New Right:
A political viewpoint that agrees with Functionalism on the traditional heterosexual family being the best type for society, but disagree and thinking that they do not work as efficiently as it should.
