What does the Church teach and believe about our body and its desire?
-it’s our desires creating from God. Our desires are to forgive, love, and be in Union

What is original innocence?
The state of Adam and Eve prior to their knowledge of sin-when their minds, hearts, and bodies were innocent
What is original nakedness?
The first experience of adam and eve when they were naked without shame
What is the nuptial meaning of the body?
Our bodies literally fit together and are made for each other
What is shame? How is shame a result of Original Sin?
- a need to protect ourselves from being used (defense mechanism)
- because we wouldn’t have had to worry about it before
What is concupiscence?
Our tendency to sin in things that are actually harmful
What is the problem with basing our decisions on feelings instead of truth?
Feelings change and the truth remains the same
Explain the difference between chastity and abstinence
Abstinence is simply refraining from sex
Chastity is virtue that directs our sexual desires and attitudes towards the truth of love
How does chastity free us to love?
It frees us from using each other as objects, and thus makes us capably of authentic love
How is sexual desire a good thing?
- created by God
- our ultimate desire to love and give
What does “resurrection of the body” mean?
When our body and soul will be raised to Jesus and reunited
Will there be sex in heaven
No because all of our needs will already be fulfilled
Why are teens having sex incapable of freely expressing the full meaning of sex?
Because they are not totally giving themselves to one another because they aren’t married.
What is the difference between “ethos of image” and “ethos of seeing”?
- responsibility of the artist to display the person right
- responsibility of the viewer to see the person right
