Theology of the Body
the ability the body has to reveal the person and God’s invisible love
Sacramentality of the Body
an anthropology that sees each. human being as a person. It reveals full our complexity and the fascinating dignity of human beings.
Adequate Anthropology
Our body is just as much apart of our bodies
Spiritualized Body
the initial experience of perfect unity between man and woman and where they gave themselves to each other through the mutual gift of their bodies
Original Unity
the original state when Adam realized he was alone in the visible world as a person and that he was fundamentally different from the animals without a human companion.
Original Solitutde
it represents the experience of Adam and Eve when they were naked without shame (symbol of vulnerability)
Original Nakedness
humanity before the fall from God’s grace
Original Man
humanity after the fall from God’s grace where pride became essential.
Historical Man
inclinations toward evil
Concupiscence
people who have completed their eschatological journey. Man’s final end in glory
Eschatological Man
the study of the end things: death, judgement, Heaven or Hell
Eschatology
being face to face with God
Beatific Vision
the union of love between persons who make a gift of themselves to each other. The unity of Adam and Eve was an image of this in the Holy Trinity
Communion of Persons
The devil constantly attacks the family, since the devil can’t directly attack God, he attacks what has been made in God’s image (humans and their families)
The human family as an image of the Holy Trinity
when we maximize pleasure and minimize pain at the expense of others
Utilitarianism
the principle that recognizes that the only proper and adequate attitude toward human persons is love
Personalistic Norm
the highest form of love, it is unconditional and a decision to do good. Sacrificial love.
