Doric and Ionic decorations
A
Doric - metopes with painting and relief, and pediments with sculptures entirely or almost in the round.
Ionic - frieze can bear reliefs, while pediment with sculpture. Many more Doric have decorated pediments than Ionic.

Contents of pediments
A
Early ones have mythological themes only at the corners, if at all. Centre often with a protective amulet, or wild animals in a heraldic composition.
