Definition of war
Fighting between nations to resolve issues between them
Definition of peace
An absence of conflict, which leads to happiness and harmony
Definition of justice
Bringing about what is right and fair, according to the law or making up for a wrong that has been committed
Definition of forgiveness
Showing grace and mercy and pardoning someone for what they have done wrong
Definition of reconciliation
A sacrament in the Roman Catholic Church; also when individuals or groups restore friendly relations after conflict or disagreement
Protest definition
A protest is a statement expressing disapproval or objection.
Terrorism definition
The unlawful use of violence, particularly against innocent civilians to achieve a political goal. It is an incredibly serious form of violence.

Give two examples of peaceful protests
Dr Martin Luther King’s peaceful protests in the USA such as the bus boycott; and the Cambodian Buddhist monk called Ghosananda who led peaceful marches in Vietnam.
Give examples of terrorism
Suicide bombers, gunmen shooting at crowds and vehicles used to injure pedestrians
Give three main reasons for war
Greed, self-defence, retaliation.
