Christians:

Muslims:
- made by Allah in 6 periods of time
- Allah organised the universe under His command
Big Bang Theory
- Islam encourages scientific investigations that provide greater understandings of Allah

- valuable cause God created it
- provides everything humans need to survive
- people have a duty to protect it
- a place of worship for Muslims
Christians + Stewardship
- Christians look after the Earth for God
- Adam was given the role of Stewardship
- ^ this responsibility has been passed down to mankind
Muslim + Khalifah
- protect the environment for future generations
- humans will be answerable to God on judgement day for their part

- some abuse their power to do what they want

Natural resources
- Christians/Muslims believe they should avoid waste and conserve energy
- should not take advantage of dominion
Pollution
- recycling is encouraged

Christian teachings on animals for food
- some say God made animals for food
- some say other foods provide all necessary nutrients
“The one who eats everything (including meat) must not judge the one who does not (vice versa) for God has accepted them” - Romans
Muslim teachings on animals for food
- killing animals for hunting/entertainment is forbidden
- no animal should be killed in front of another animal
- animals are killed in the name of God (halal)

Animal experimentation
Christians:
- allowed for essential human needs
- animals should be treated with compassion
- stewardship involves treating ALL life with care
Muslims:
- causing animals unnecessary harm is against principles
- experiments are not essential for human needs

- God created human life last
- Adam was given authority over the garden of Eden
- God created woman (Eve) from the rib of man (Adam)

- moulded Adam from clay
- made Eve (Haawa) from the same soul/clay as Adam

Abortion
Christians:
- believe in ‘Sanctity of Life’
- allowed in disability/rape cases
- Catholics believe life starts at conception

Muslims:
- abortion = HARAM
- also allowed in disability/rape cases
- must happen before ‘ensoulment’
Euthanasia
Christians:
FOR : God gives free will.
AGAINST : Euthanasia is deliberate killing (murder)
Muslims:
- Euthanasia is HARAM
“No soul may die, except with Allah’s permission at a predestined time” - Qur’an
