- Consent and non-suffering is important

- Catholics don’t like it since it goes against natural law
- Anglicans and non-conformists allow it so couples can develop their relationship before having children
- Against ones that aren’t preventing the egg and sperm meeting
Buddhist:
- Acceptable for preventing conception
- Some contraception kills fertilised egg (against first moral precept)
- May make exceptions

- Everyone was created in the image of God
- Jesus treated women with respect and welcomed them
- Some traditional Christians think husbands should rule over their wives
Buddhist:
- Buddha was reluctant to ordain women
- Lotus Sutra teaches that men and women are equal in their ability to attain enlightenment
