What is social development?
A measure of how well a society is changing for the better or how living standards are improving
What does life expectancy mean?
The average age a person is expected to live to in a population
What is literacy rate?
Percentage of people in a population who can read or write
What is infant mortality rate?
The number of babies per 1000 live births who die under the age of 1
What is fertility rate?
The average number of births to a woman in her lifetime
What is the gender inequality index?
A measurement of a gender disparity
What are the indicators used to measure social development?
Life expectancy, literacy rates, number of people per doctor, average food consumption, the number of homeless people, deaths from unsafe water and sanitation and the infant mortality rate
What are the social indicators of gender equality?
Male and female life expectancy rates, fertility rate, male and female literacy rates, male and female food consumption and employment type
What is GDP?
The total value of goods and services produced in a country in a year
