Q

Why did people in the West Indies choose Britain?

A

The West Indies chose Britain because during 1948,Parliament passed the British Nationality Act meaning that all the people in the British Empire(the Commonwealth) were British passport holders and were allowed to live as well as work in Britain. So if you have never been to Britain although you are a part of the British Empire, you were legally allowed to travel there which is why the West Indies saw this as an oppurtunity
