Diction: menace- danger to society, repetition. All of existence is threatened by the storm

Personification: leaves unhooked themselves, nature has intent and acts on its own will, dust scooping itself

Dickinson’s own voice comes through as she says’s “my fathers house” its a place of refuge. And the poems ends with “just quartering a tree” it was capable if more destruction a near miss of her home.
