foreshadows ivys lack of sight and also amplifies the moaning howls of the wind which prepares us for a more eerie setting
as the screen lightens
a mournful flute starts to play which prepares us for sadness and grief.

is pointing up towards the full sky, with the bleak trees in view. Then it uses a vignette to darken the corners.
the tension explodes
when the bass drum punctuates twice. mysterious noises increase in volume creating an unbearable crescendo.
what does it foreshadow?
the sequence not only creates powerful tension but foreshadows the hunt where the monster who later turns out to be noah, tries to kill ivy- it is as if we are seeing this chase through her obscured vision
