What was the role of the king like in 1780?
He was at the top of everything and the king could appoint or fire anyone they wanted to in parliament especially the prime minister.
What was the relationship between the monarch and parliament like in 1780?
the monarch had to take account the ideas and whishes of parliament if he was to influence their policies and get them to agree to the taxes without which his government could not generate. Along with this if someone had a lot of support then the king would make them the prime minister.
What was the government overruled with?
Land owners and general rich people.
Who were the aristocracy?
the aristocracy were usual the children of nobles and the kings and they often had hereditary positions in the house of lords.
Did the lords have a large amount of influence?
Yes, they usually ruled over the house of commons and the local government.
